Slow start to weather season, then we got hit with the Covid-19 Pandemic. Businesses closed, Schools closed, seemed never ending. It took nearly 2 years to get back to somewhat normal. Severe weather was nonexistent.   

In the spring of 2004 the Sumsky team decided there was a need to be recognized by one callsign. We applied and were awarded K8SCS on July 20th 2004
We still use the call in 2022.

In the spring of 2001 the chairman of the team that originated in 1992 and had joined the newly formed NSW Steering committee in 1993, decided to step down. Pat Morrow (N8OQP) and Marty Copfer (KC8NOV) stepped up to lead the Skywarn team as co-chairs. 
We also moved operations to 147.135 where it remained until 2014.
